Parents and Students, Can you believe the school year is over!? Wow! I know you are all anxious to start summer (and I definitely am too), but I wanted to send you all one last note. This note is the long message I wish to write in each yearbook and engrave in each heart; some sincere words from your 8th grade Language Arts teacher. First of all, thank you for a wonderful year. I have truly enjoyed working with each one of you. I love seeing students push the limits of their knowledge and grow and improved with each try. Your hard work and dedication, even when (or especially when) you encounter failures, is inspiring and a valuable skill to cultivate. Thank you for allowing me to learn along side you. I hope you will remember some of the lessons from this year. Of course it would be nice if you remembered where to put a comma (but I'm not holding my breath for that one). However, even more important are the life-long lessons you hopefully learned throughout the year. Here is a recap of a few key lessons:
“Success is not final, failure is not fatal, it is the courage to continue that counts.”
For those of you who haven't heard, I have accepted the position to lead the 9th grade Language Arts department and teach 9th grade honors English. So I might be privileged to teach some of you again. Whether you have me as your teacher next year or not, I want you to know you can always come to me for support. I care about each one of you (yes, even that one student who is reading this right now and is remembering all the less-than-lovable things he/she did in my classroom). Honestly, I hope the best for all of you and want to see you all succeed. Thank you for letting me be part of you lives. Have a fabulous summer vacation! With all my love, Mrs. Macey
